Fall

Whenever somebody asks me what my favorite season is, I never hesitate to answer, “Autumn!” I love the crisp, cool air and the changing colors of the trees. But, I also love the various aromas equated with autumn: fresh apples, cinnamon, pumpkin spice (in moderation!), and even the falling leaves seem to give off a pleasing smell. This reminds me how faithful servants of Christ are a pleasing aroma to God.

In 2 Corinthians 2:14-15a, the Apostle Paul writes: But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved… As much as we may enjoy the smells of autumn, they cannot compare to the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Christ as we faithfully reveal His Truth to those around us. I pray that our faithful service would be a pleasing aroma to God and that we would be a “fragrance of Christ” to Him!
